BookingWould you like to play at The Lot? Are you interested in showing your art, or using The Lot for an event? If so send us an email at booking@thelotcolumbus.com. FAQs:What kind of events will you host at The Lot?Concerts, poetry readings, art shows, movie screenings, pretty much anything you can think of. Send us an email if you have an idea for an event and would like to know if we would host it. Do you pay bands and artists that perform at The Lot?Typically we do not. Since we give all our profits away we can't afford to pay bands to come in. If you feel like you will have a good turnout for your event we are ok with charging a $3-$5 cover charge. It is up to the bands/acts if they want to donate any of that money to charity. We understand this arrangement will not work for everyone, and that not everyone can afford to play for free or just the cover. We just hope enough people are willing and able to use their talent for a good cause. Do bands need to play for the entire night? That's up to you. Since you are essentially donating your time it would be unfair of us to ask you to play for ridiculously long amounts of time. That being said, the longer people stay, the more money we make and give away to charity. Is there a sound system and will you provide someone to run sound? There is a very nice sound system provided for the use of bands. We will provide a sound man for you if you are incapable of running your own sound. If you are capable of running your own sound we will give you a set of guidelines. How Many People can The Lot hold? The Lot is two stories, our maximum occupancy on the main floor is 343, and we can hold another 40 in the balcony where the pool tables are. What kind of music are you looking to book? While we are open to any kind of music, we tend to shy away from Metal, Screamo or Rap as they don't tend to work as well in a coffee shop style atmosphere. If you play any of those types of music and think it would work, we'll be happy to give it a shot. |
