What is The Lot?

"The Lot" is an outlet for musicians and artists of all kinds. Countless artists have started out with the intent of making a difference in the world through their art. Most give up because they can't find an outlet which allows them that opportunity. "The Lot" is a coffee shop and arts venue located on the Southwest side of Columbus which exists solely to help make a positive difference in the world by partnering with these artists.

What We Do

Run entirely by volunteers, The Lot is open every Thursday night from 7:30 - 11:30 for open mic. We also have concerts and other events on some Friday and Saturday evenings, check the calendar for details.

Every several months we select a new charity to support. For the next few months all profit from the coffee shop goes towards that charity. There are several requirements for any charity we support. The charity must provide a tangible service to humanity, be non-controversial and while the charity may be faith based, the money cannot be used toward theologically based initiatives. For instance, while we are willing to support a christian charity that feeds the homeless or builds wells in Africa, our money cannot be used for purchasing bibles for missionaries.

We would like artists of all faiths and all worldviews to have an outlet, not just those who share the same theology.

What You Can Do

The best thing you could do is to make The Lot your local hangout. With every cup of coffee you buy you contribute.

If you are an artist you can display your art at The Lot and if it sells we'll split the profit with you. We expect that artists will donate a small portion of the profit towards the charitable cause at the time of sale.

If you are a musician or band, you can play at the open mic or contact us to book a show. Just by bringing people out you'll be helping the cause. If you are a local artist and would like to sell your CDs at the Lot we'd be happy to carry it. We would expect the artists to donate a small portion of the profit from the CD sale to go towards the charity at the time of sale.
